Traveling to Milan
This was my second time travelling to Italy for an audio related conference. This time, I was able to catch a direct flight from Halifax to Frankfurt, Germany and after a short layover it was just a quick hop down to Milan’s main airport. From there, a quick train took me into the downtown area and then it was just a walk to my AirBnB.
I arrived a few days before the conference so that I could take the train up and see the Lake Como area as well as catch an AC Milan vs. Liverpool Championship league game. I am not the biggest soccer fan out there, but I will say it was one of coolest live events I’ve ever been to.
Finally, it was time for the actual conference!
Poster Presentation & Demo
I presented a poster at the conference which highlighted the Maplet module that I had designed for bridging libmapper to the Eurorack paradigm. I first gave a presentation to the audience that provided a very brief overview of the work and also ran a live demo that demonstrated how the system worked.
It was great to get feedback from all of the other conference go-ers on the work as well as some inspiration for future ideas!
